Events:

December 2007 invited by the AHRC in UK and for the Foreign Office I programmed a workshop about how art and design can be combined with science and technology to affect social and cultural change. This took place from 3-5 December in Sao Paulo and brought together UK and Brasilian academics, policy makers and cultural practitioners. It was the leading art/design event for the UK/Brasil Year of Science and Innovation.

Summer of 2007 I curated a workshop in Sergipe, North East Brasil, which brought together an international group of artists, scientists, writers and researchers for a workshop about setting up a new research institute - in an area of environmental beauty and economic poverty. The initiative is called The Human Project led by IPTI.

As part of a co-editorial role for the (Un)common Ground project in Amsterdam in September 2007 I  brought together four case studies from Brasil to discuss the challenges of scale, intimacy and the interface between human and design/technological development.
