Three Factors to Consider When Buying a Rubber Air Hose

Building a house is a daunting task. It becomes more hectic if you don’t have any clue about what your technicians need. To avoid such scenarios, make it a habit to learn about new things. Whether you are a novice or an experienced technician, feel free to grasp an idea or two. Have you ever heard of a rubber air hose? To many people, this might be a different item. This is an item used to pass air from point A to point B.

While buying an air hose, you should pay keen attention to the hose connectors. You should do extensive research and have various preferences before stepping in a construction supply store. There are factors to consider before buying an air hose. These factors range from the material, length, and cost.

Experts in the realm of construction always choose an air hose based on required length. Paying attention to the material the item is made of is still essential. Hoses are made of different materials. The following are types of hoses based on the material they are made of;

PVC hose

This is one of the most popular materials. Air hoses made of this material are durable and have an impressive abrasion resistance. Besides being durable, PVC hoses are economical. Preferably the material should be used by technicians who work in warm weather. This is because the material is not that flexible. In warm weather, one can easily manoeuvre the hose in corners and obstacles.

Polyurethane Hose

Lay Flat Air Hose made of this material is also referred to as a poly hose. A poly hose weighs less than other hoses. The hose is flexible, thus favourable for use in different weather conditions.

Hybrid hose

This hose is made by blending PVC, polyurethane, and rubber. Perhaps this is the hose that will get your job done. Its durability is unbeatable, and it can be used even in frigid temperatures since it is incredibly flexible.

Length

There are two types of rubber air hose. A hose is either 50 or 100 feet long. The 100 feet hose will suit you better. It will allow you to maximize the distance from the air compressor. Therefore, you will do away with an extension cord which can be disastrous on electric motors when not appropriately sized.

On the other hand, some situations call for a 50 feet hose. Most of these scenarios are when working on tight quarters. The other rare scenario is to match the CFM tool to the output of the air compressor. In such cases, a shorter hose is required to minimize frictional loss.

Inner diameter

The most standard diameters in the market are 1/4 and 3/8 inch. Most people prefer a 1/4-inch hose since its tight. Besides, it is cost effective, easy to roll, and easy carry around the store. On the other hand, a wider inner diameter can help to minimize frictional loss.
